Varieties of Angelfish

I've tried to divide these up by the dominant color. Thus we have "wild" which in this instance does not mean wild fish, it means the original wild color pattern. Later black fish were developed and in the 70s gold fish appeared. In the 1990s blue fish were bred in the Philippines and were distributed as "Pinoy" angels, to make the color easier to understand from seeing the name in print, I've placed them under "Blue". "AOC" is "all other colors" for variations that can't easily be placed in any of the other categories.

veil

Veil tails were a very early development of angelfish breeding shortly after they were introduced. Originally, they were only wild type coloration, then as black strains were produced (black lace, half black, smokey, marble, zebra) they were crossed and all became available in vail tail. When gold (I) was introduced in the 70s they were also crossed with veils and not all new varieties eventually have a vail version.
