In 1974 Peter Tsang told Heiko Bleher to go and fidn this otherwise unknown fish from 1918 and to introduce it into the aquarium hobby. Bleher found them and gave them to Peter French in Memmingen who bred them. Mr. Friedrich Bielefeld got them from him and took them to the DDR where Peter Guennel was the first to breed them there.

The photographs from Heiko are from there he caught them.
